The Fishermen's Spot is hosting an Orvis Day to be held at the shop this Sunday, December 9th from 

10 am - 4pm. We will be offering casting programs, meet and greet Orvis guides, raffles, sales, discounts and more. See below for details!

Terry Gunn: Lee's Ferry, Arizona.

Terry Gunn is co-owner of Lees Ferry Anglers Fly Shop and Guide Service and Cliff Dwellers Lodge in Marble Canyon AZ. Lees Ferry Anglers is one of the largest guide service's in the US with 14 full time year-round guides. Terry has been a full time fishing guide since 1983 and is an internationally recognized fly fishing expert, author, photographer, and speaker. Terry has fished around the world in both fresh and saltwater. Come learn more about this incredible fishery and meet Terry.

Jimmie Morales: Western Sierra and Yosemite.

Come join Jimmie and learn more about fly fish California's Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and the majestic High Sierra. The Sierra Nevada, from Yosemite National Park south, through the Sierra National Forest, King's Canyon and Sequoia National Parks, offer up some great fly fishing opportunities.

Hutch Hutchinson: Regional Sales Manager for Orvis.

Hutch will be giving a clinic titled " A Time To Switch" showing just how versatile a switch rod can be for our western rivers. Hutch has been featured on several TV programs, he has been (and currently) the “Guide School Casting Instructor” for the Orvis Endorsed Western Guide Rendezvous’ since the mid-90’s and has been the Guide Trainer and Consultant to many Lodges, Outfitters, Guide Services and Guides around the world for over 20 years.  He is considered by many to be a “Guides Guide”.   In 2008 he designed and built the worlds first and only 1.2 mile, $100,000, 18 hole Fly Casting Course in Bend, OR

For the past 14 years Hutch has been the Southwest Regional Business Manager for the Orvis Company.  He and his family live in Basalt, CO surrounded by 3 Gold Medal trout streams.  One of his passions is helping anyone further their fly fishing pursuits, especially his wife Paige and 4.5yr old son Ryder. 

Capt Vaughn Podmore: Local Southern California Saltwater and Surf.

Vaughn has more than 20 years experience fly fishing and fine tuning our local waters. Having spent so much time in the water, he is in touch with the tides and winds and trusts his instincts and experience to put anglers on the fish. Vaughn has been a licensed guide since 2000 and also holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master 50 ton captain's license.

Jim Roberts: Wild Waters Fly Fishing, CA

Jim Roberts first picked up a fly rod at 13 and since has spent countless days on the water learning various aspects of the sport. He has accumulated a wide range of experience in the fly fishing industry, from producer of fly fishing videos, fly shop owner, instructor, guide, writer, and manufacturer. But he still enjoys the thrill and excitement of getting somebody into a fish or sharing knowledge with a fellow angler.

Fishing different waters from Argentina to Alaska for the past twenty years, Jim Roberts has learned what it takes to catch fish in a variety of settings and conditions. His passion for chasing any fish with a fly is matched by his desire to teach others about fly fishing.

Jim first got his guide license in 1995 and has been taking fly fishers on enjoyable trips ever since. With over twenty years experience and his professional training as a teacher, Jim is able to share his knowledge to help other anglers make it to the next level. His goal is to make fly fishing instruction as fun and rewarding as possible.
